Please join us in Welcoming a Brand New Name for your Credit Union.  It has been long overdue for your Credit Union to get a new name.  Recently, a new project has gotten underway by Sylvia Garcia County Commisioner for Harris County Precinct 2.  This project is putting in over 8 million dollars to revamp and rename "Battleground Road" with a new name of  Independence Parkway.  This is the Birthplace of Texas and has many Historic Elements that are very important to the State of Texas.  There will be many improvements that will establish this area and remind Texans and others that this is where Texas won independence. 

The credit union felt that this would be an opportune time to change the name from the old outdated Soltex Federal Credit Union to Independence Parkway Federal Credit Union. 

This name change has nothing to do with the national economic crises that is going on throughout the nation.   Also, many are feeling uncomfortable and nervous regarding the daily news about the health of the nations financial markets.  First and foremost, Soltex Federal Credit Union is deeply committed to our community and wants you to be assured that your Credit Union is financially sound and dedicated to the success and future of each member.  Nationwide headlines continue to inform the public of struggles of individuals and businesses that are finding themselves facing in our current economy.  The bursting of the housing problems and staggering default rates on "subprime" and adjustable rate mortgages have homeowners struggling to make their mortgage payments and many financial institutions recording significant losses.

Soltex Federal Credit Union has not been involved and does not plan to offer  any "subprime" mortgage loans.  The credit union is committed in helping members, including those of modest means, improve their financial wellness by providing loans and deposit products with exceptional rates.  Soltex Federal Credit Union is in excellent financial condition and remains strong and solid!The credit union experienced positive growth and returns in 2007 and making solid progress towards a fantastic year in 2008.
